As a Payhawk administrator, you can save your employees valuable time, reduce their manual input, and improve their efficiency by enabling the Payhawk AI Smart Expense Note feature. This intelligent tool automatically generates expense notes based on the details of the uploaded expense document and past expenses.

Common challenges in expense management

The expense Note field is a required field for most Payhawk accounts, meaning employees must manually fill in the expense note for each expense they submit. This increases manual work and the risk of inconsistencies or incomplete information.

How the Smart Expense Note works​

When the Smart Expense Note feature is enabled, Payhawk AI learns from the employee’s past expenses and the overall expense data of the Payhawk account.

As a result, when an employee creates an expense, Payhawk AI analyzes the expense document and references previous expenses to auto-populate the Note field. The automation adapts its tone, language, and key details based on past reviewed expenses.

Like other automated fields, a star indicator marks the AI-generated notes.

For traceability, you can also view the action in the Activity section of the expense.
