Learn how to pay utilized credits on the due date and what's Payhawk's policy towards late repayments and defaults on credit obligations.

You can pay back the credit from your company's active Payhawk debit account (if any) or with a bank transfer from your company's bank account. Currently, Payhawk doesn't support direct debit.

Account statements

Payhawk generates an account statement and sends it to the Payhawk administrators over email on the first calendar day of the next billing period (or the next working day if the first is on a weekend or a bank holiday). You have to pay the due amount by the indicated due date on the statement.

Overpayment

An overpayment happens when a borrower pays more than the required monthly loan payment or when a card refund exceeds the total spending for that month.

While intentional overpayments can help repay loans faster or increase available limits, due to safeguarding requirements Payhawk doesn’t allow excess funds to remain in the account beyond the day they are received. If you pay more than your monthly repayment, Payhawk will refund the extra amount on the same day. For example, if your monthly repayment is EUR 20,000 and you transfer EUR 30,000, Payhawk will return the EUR 10,000 overpaid.

Late credit payments

If you haven't paid the credit on the due date, Payhawk sends administrators an email reminder on the fourth calendar day of the next billing period (or the next working day if the fourth is on a weekend or a bank holiday).

On the same day, Payhawk will also display to administrators the Credit due by {due date} banner and prompt them to pay back the due amount.

If you still haven't paid back the credit until the due date, Payhawk sends administrators an email on the due date (or the next working day when the due date is on a weekend or a bank holiday) informing them that Payhawk will suspend both your company debit and credit accounts (if any) unless the credit is paid back by the end of that day.

On the same day, Payhawk will also display to administrators the Account will be suspended tomorrow banner and prompt them to pay back the credit immediately.

Default on credit obligations

If after all reminders, prompts, and warnings your company hasn't paid the unpaid credit balance by the due date, Payhawk will suspend its services for both your company credit and debit accounts (if any). This means that Payhawk administrators won't be able to make any payments, including card and bill payments, from the company's debit accounts (if any).

Payhawk will also display to administrators the Payhawk account is temporarily disabled banner. Upon clicking on Resolve, you'll be redirected to the Funds screen with the overdue credit account.

On their Expenses and Cards screens in the web portal, employees will see a message that payments are blocked and they need to contact a Payhawk administrator.

On their Cards screens in the mobile app, employees will see a message that payments are blocked and they need to contact a Payhawk administrator.

Resuming Payhawk services

Payhawk will resume the credit and debit account services of your company as soon as it receives the due credit amount.
