Payhawk supports user-friendly options for mapping the chart of accounts in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance with the respective accounting categories in Payhawk.

When you connect to your Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance organization for the first time, Payhawk automatically pulls the available chart of accounts. Later, you can manually update them at any time.

To synchronize your categories from Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance with the corresponding Payhawk categories, follow these steps:

  1. In the Payhawk web portal, go to Settings > Expense fields.

  2. Click on Category.

  3. Click on the Update from MS Dynamics Finance & Operations button.

  4. Depending on the setup you've selected, you'll either have to map to an expense category or to a General Ledger.

Map your existing Payhawk categories with the corresponding Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance chart of accounts by clicking on the desired category. In the dialog that opens, modify the information and click on Save.

    • To delete a category, hover over it and click on the Trash icon. Confirm your choice and click on Delete category.

    • To create a new category, hover over an existing category and click the + button. Enter the details and click on Save. The default VAT rates for these newly created categories will be updated in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance.
