Export your expenses and payments to DATEV Unternehmen Online (DUO).

The Payhawk integration with DATEV Unternehmen Online (DUO) is designed to work effortlessly and help you keep your data between the two systems in sync at all times.

Notes on exporting to DUO

After the export to DUO, Payhawk will pull the value for the expense External ID from the Buchungsnummer of that expense. If there is also a payment export for the payment External ID, Payhawk will display the value from the Belegnummer of that payment.

Prerequisites

To start exporting expenses and payments, make sure you have connected the Payhawk and DUO systems.

Exporting expenses from Payhawk to DUO

The expense will be automatically exported to DUO once the expense is marked as reviewed. For more information, see the overview of the pushed and pulled payments, expenses, and deposits between Payhawk and DUO.

To export your Payhawk expenses to DUO:

  1. Log in to your Payhawk account.

  2. Go to Expenses > Review.

  3. Select an expense.

  4. Check if all the data is correctly stored in the expense.

  5. Click on Review.

If for some reason Payhawk cannot find your expense chart of accounts or the necessary data for correct bookkeeping, Payhawk will display a warning for missing data.

Exporting payments from Payhawk to DUO

The payment information related to your expense will be automatically exported to DUO once the payment is settledFor more information, see the article on authorized and settled transactions.

To check the state of a transaction:

  1. Log in to your Payhawk account.

  2. Go to Expenses.

  3. Select the expense you want to check that has already been marked as reviewed.

  4. Click on the Payment section of the expense.

  5. Go through the information about the transaction and check if the payment status is settled for card payments or success for bills.

Viewing export data and using export filters for expenses and payments in Payhawk

The export event between the two systems can be viewed from the Expenses app in the View history audit log of the expense.

The detailed export data of an expense or payment can be viewed from the Expenses app in the Export section of that expense.

You can also filter out expenses and payments based on various filters relevant to DUO such as Export status, Exported by, Export date, External ID, and others.
