US-based companies can link their physical American Express Cards to Payhawk and use them as a funding source for virtual American Express Cards issued and managed through Payhawk.

Only after you have connected Payhawk with American Express can you link your physical American Express Cards in Payhawk and will the Cards > Linked cards tab be visible for you.

Transaction history of your linked American Express Cards

  • For your linked physical American Express Cards, in the Payhawk Expenses app you'll be able to see only transactions that have been cleared (settled). As the clearing can happen up to 30 days after the transaction, you may expect delays in the transaction history updates of your Card in Payhawk.

  • When you've linked your physical American Express Card to Payhawk, the system will import the history of its settled transactions as of the day of its authentication with the system and will update it multiple times a day.

  • The transaction history of your physical American Express Card will include only the transactions made with it and not with any existing virtual cards in Payhawk that are using it as a funding source.

For additional information about your American Express Cards, such as whether a Card is blocked, directly contact your Card issuer as Payhawk has access only to the settled Card transaction history.
